Happy New Year to everyone!  I am looking forward to 2009 and all of the changes that our new President is promising (and the changes I am promising myself).  I, however am not going to sit back this year and wait for things to get better.  I am also not going to set a bunch of goals I will never achieve.  This year I am going to live by the words of Dr. Jane Goodall:

“If you really want something, and really work hard, and take advantage of opportunities, and never give up, you will find a way.”

Like Bill Scavone says “Just win baby!”

I am going to find a way to win in 2009!

Happy Holidays Everyone!

Here is a little advice that I recieived from a networking group that I’m a part of on facebook.com
Feel free to join the group, “Partners in Business Network”, it’s a fantastic, very positive group to a part of.

Don’t be afraid to try this…Really, how many times have you heard, “Put your goals on paper?” It can’t hurt, it only takes a few minutes of your time and maybe you’ll surprise yourself! And dont forget to put your “List of Goals” somewhere that you can see it often =)

Good Luck!

2009 is going to be a challenging year for most people. But not all. The same rules of success will still apply. For those that are serious about achieving more or reaching their dreams, we’re going to stop dreaming and go to work. We are going to apply a simple yet disciplined system put together by Brian Tracy from the book - Eat That Frog! Chapter by Chapter.

Ch.1
1. Decide what you want.
2. Write it down.
3. Set A deadline.
4. Make a list of all of the things required to do.
5. Organize list into a plan. “Break the tasks down”
6. Take action on the plan vigorously
7. Resolve to do something everyday toward acheiving the goal. Never miss a day!

“Goals are the fuel in the furnace of achievement”

Bigger picture…
1. Write down 10 goals for the year, in present tense, personal, and positive.
2. Select the one that will have the greatest positive impact on your life. Work on it everyay until completed.

Your successes in 2009 and beyond start today.

After a very busy fall, in MN, for me, in real estate…Winter came in Northern, MN…and because of it, Real Estate, for myself has slowed down, froze it seems (just like everything else in the area!) For a “New Agent” in a “New Area” this is, what I guess you would say “tough” but, when RE gets tough, you need to find “other” ways of keeping youself busy, that will benefit you, in your business.

I have been doing a TON of networking online with facebook and a few other online networks and have been able to meet a lot of potential clients and a handful of other Weichert affiliated individuals…it’s been great!

So, if you have had a slower than ususal winter in the real estate business, I would strongly encourage you to try doing a little online networking to see what it can do for you.

Good Luck!

Category: Gen Y Facts

I recently heard a statistic that 50% of all Gen Y’ers stated that a retailers environmental policy influenced their shopping behavior this Holiday season.  When asked to describe their attitude towards a retailers environmentally friendly positioning 46% said they would shop at a retailer if they were more environmentally friendly.  And get this; 47% said they would be willing to pay more for environmentally friendly products, brands or services!  If one out of two consumers will pay more for my services if I am a “Green Realtor” it would make sense to me to learn a bit more about becoming more aware of the green building principals applied in residential properties as well as learn how to incorporate green principals into your real estate practices.

I know I am in need of continuing education in 2009 and the Green Resource Council designation will be at the top of my list!

To everyone attending Management Academy next week, ENJOY!  I had the privilege of attending last year and it was one of the best training seminars I have attended.  Kirk Miller and the gang do a fantastic job.  If you haven’t had the chance to attend or need a refresher, take the time to go next week.

I am thankful for many things this Holiday season and one of them is the fact that I am a part of the Weichert organization.  Many people ask me the question “Why did you choose Weichert?”.  The answer for me was simple; Weichert is a real estate company and not a Wall Street company.  Weichert has proven real estate tools and systems that have been constructed by someone who actually knows the real estate business and it refreshing for me to see the agents and owners that are willing to work the systems grow in even the most challenging of times.  With all that is happening in this crazy economy, it’s exciting to be a part of a REAL ESTATE COMPANY that continues to grow and provide top-notch services to our clients.  Yes, it’s more difficult to grow and prosper than it was in the past but I like a good challenge!

Another reason myself and many others are choosing to align themselves with Weichert and not one of the “Big Brands” - well, just read this article from Realtor Magazine………

Realogy Faces Opposition in Financial Revamp

Private equity firm Apollo Management’s timing was bad when it took over Realogy at the end of 2006, shortly before the real estate bubble burst, analysts say.

Realogy, whose franchised real estate businesses include Century 21 and Coldwell Banker, is now working with Apollo to revise its capital structure to make nearly $650 million in debt go away by trading new bonds for old.  Read More….
